In the bark days of 1940 when Britain was preparing to face a German invasion Lord Beaverbrook turned to the Standard Motor Company to produce a basic armoured car. - known as Beaverettes by putting a riveted armoured body a standard car chassis. The original version has an open top body, but by the MkIII the armoured car had been enclosed and a turret added. While these cars were never considered fit for overseas deployment they were used extensively by the Homeguard. Arvernes Miniatures has now produced a model for the MKIII Beaverette. The model is in 1/56 scale and comes both pre-supported and pre-hollowed.
