Making MMGs Great Again (and nerfing pistols!)

Ever since version 1 of BA, MMG rules have been an issue. Infantry MMG swere not taken because they were too expensive for what they could do, and vehicle MMGs were wildly overpowered - leading to the rise of the dakka tank. In the latest v3 preview article Warlord has revealed that they will try to address these issues in a couple of ways:


  • MMGs get a slight bump in firepower going from 5 to 6 shots

  • There will be no exceptional damage rule in v3 making MMGs harder to kill.

  • Vehicle machine gun shots will be halved


These all seem like sensible changes and should also help balance the new force structure options - although we have yet to see points. Check out the full Warlord article below.

Btw, pistols seems to have lost the assault special rules in v3.
